New SyncShield version 3.7.1 released / Uusi SyncShield 3.7.1 –versio julkaistu |
The 3.7.1 version of SyncShield was released last week. The newest additions greatly enhance the iOS support and other platforms are also getting their share of new features. This release raises the support of all platforms to the highest level available and yet again everything works like a charm.
SyncShield now has the full iOS MDM support. This allows the proper management of many different aspects silently without any end user interaction and brings iOS to the same level as other platforms. Apple has restricted the MDM possibilities intentionally, so there are still things which cannot be carried out the same way as with other platforms, but all possibilities are actively monitored to develop iOS MDM even better. With SyncShield version 3.7.1 the MDM support expands to Apple tablets allowing easy management of both iPad and iPad 2.
Android is constantly developed for better MDM support and now SyncShield offers new features for better Android experience. SyncShield can now take portable backups from Android devices as well enabling cross-platform information retrieval between three major platforms. Also the anti-theft feature has been implemented for Android assisting the security aspect of comprehensive device management.
One of the most important additions of the 3.7.1 version of SyncShield is the remote control feature for Symbian and Windows Mobile. It allows screen capturing of a mobile device which has SyncShield client installed and activated and controlling the mobile phone remotely on computer. This feature greatly enhances the individual mobile device management and we are planning to add this feature for Android and iPhone as soon as it is possible.
The management of device fleets is required to be efficient and this release has brought more possibilities. Customers can be now categorized by additional attributes, for example by geographical location, strictness of security or service model (ASP or MSP). This should help operators a great deal when managing large device fleets.

SyncShieldin 3.7.1-versio julkaistiin viime viikolla. Uusimmat päivitykset ovat parantaneet iOS-tukia huomattavasti ja muillekin alustoille on saatavilla uusia hallinnointiominaisuuksia. Tämä versio päivittää kaikkien alustojen etähallintatuen parhaalle mahdolliselle tasolle.
SyncShield tukee nyt iOS-etähallintaa tarkoitetulla tavalla. Monia eri hallinnoinnin osa-alueita voidaan hoitaa näkymättömästi ilman loppukäyttäjän osallistumista tuoden iOS-tuen samalle tasolle muiden alustojen etähallintatuen kanssa. Apple on rajannut etähallintamahdollisuuksia tarkoituksella, joten joitain asioita ei voida tehdä täysin samalla tavalla kuin muiden alustojen kanssa, mutta uusia mahdollisuuksia etsitään koko ajan kokonaisvaltaisemman iOS-tuen saavuttamiseksi. SyncShield 3.7.1-version myötä etähallintatuki laajenee Applen tablet-tietokoneisiin mahdollistaen iPad ja iPad 2 -laitteiden helpon hallinnoinnin.
Androidille kehitetään koko ajan parempaa etähallinnan tukea ja SyncShield lisääkin Androidin tukemia hallinnointiominaisuuksia paremman Android-kokemuksen saavuttamiseksi. SyncShield voi nyt ottaa Android-laitteista alustasta riippumattomia varmuuskopioita mahdollistaen tehokkaan puhelimen vaihdon Androdin, Symbianin ja Windows Mobilen välillä. Myös anti-theft-ominaisuus on saatavilla Androidille edesauttaen etähallintaratkaisun turvallisuutta.
Yksi SyncShield 3.7.1-version tärkeimpiä uudistuksia on Symbian ja Windows Mobilen etäkäyttö. Se mahdollistaa ruudun kaappauksen laitteilta, joihin SyncShield on asennettu ja aktivoitu, ja näiden laitteiden etäkäytön tietokoneen ruudulta. Ominaisuus tuo uusia mahdollisuuksia mobiililaitteiden yksilöhallintaan ja aiomme lisätä tämän ominaisuuden myös Android- ja iOS-alustoille heti kun se on mahdollista.
Yritysten laitejoukkojen hallinnan edellytetään olevan tehokasta ja SyncShieldin uusin versio antaakin siihen lisää mahdollisuuksia. Asiakkaita voidaan nyt ryhmitellä uusien ominaisuuksien mukaan, esimerkiksi maantieteellisen sijainnin, turvallisuuskäytäntöjen ja käytetyn palvelumallin (ASP tai MSP) perusteella. Tämä auttaa SyncShieldin operaattoreita hallinnoimaan suurta laitejoukkoa tehokkaasti.
