SyncShield® 3.7 version released

Capricode has released a new version of SyncShield®. The new SyncShield® 3.7 literally doubles the amount of supported smartphone platforms and includes new highly useful features for full mobile device management. In addition to improving the current functions, SyncShield® now has a whole new set of features for data management and data security. This version makes managing the entire mobile phone life cycle easier and more efficient and the large scale of different options will guarantee a great service for everyone.

The most important change in SyncShield® 3.7 is adding the support for iOS, Android and Symbian^3. Androids and iPhones have raised their market share massively during the last year and their use as business devices is becoming very common. It is also a priority to support the latest Symbian platform as the new mobile device generation using Symbian^3 looks very promising. Also, for the first time tablet support has been established, this time for Android tablets like the Samsung Galaxy Tab. The aim of SyncShield® has always been to support the great majority of mobile devices used for business purposes and to offer a full MDM solution for all supported platforms. With this update the goals are once again met with success and the results are available for everyone!

The world of mobile devices is changing constantly and new innovations and technologies create great opportunities for us. This is why SyncShield® is designed to support the whole life cycle of the mobile phone. It is a known fact that changing a mobile phone takes time and effort because of all the data and configurations must be moved and protected. SyncShield® now supports portable backup, a new cross-platform support function which lets one restore the backups for example between Symbian and Windows Mobile devices. You can save your contacts, calendar and messages and have it all loaded on your new mobile device with new configurations even if you change the device platform. This is also easy from the perspective of the SyncShield® user, as profile can be easily changed for example from iPhone 3G to Samsung Galaxy S. Switching phones has never been this easy.

In addition to these major changes SyncShield® 3.7 version also adds some features supporting the technical use. Symbian phones now have settings management for VoIP and SIP, devices can operate either in push or pull mode and the mobile phone can be set to lock or wipe when the SIM-card is removed as an anti-theft function. The development of the solution continues to ensure the great quality and the state of art features, and the next release is scheduled to the beginning of year 2011.

Uusi versio SyncShield® 3.7 on julkaistu

Capricode on julkaissut uuden version SyncShield®-ohjelmistosta. Uusi versio kirjaimellisesti tuplaa tuettujen käyttöjärjestelmien määrän ja tarjoaa käyttöön uusia hyödyllisiä ominaisuuksia mobiililaitteiden etähallintaan. Nykyisten toimintojen kehittämisen lisäksi SyncShield® sisältää uusia datan hallintaa ja suojaamista helpottavia ominaisuuksia. Tämän version myötä mobiililaitteiden koko elinkaaren hallinta muuttuu yhä helpommaksi ja tehokkaammaksi, ja laaja eri vaihtoehtojen skaala takaa parhaan palvelun jokaiselle käyttäjälle.

SyncShield® 3.7 –version tärkein muutos on uusien käyttöjärjestelmien tuen lisääminen. Nyt SyncShield®:llä voi hallinnoida myös iPhone, Android sekä Symbian^3 –puhelimia. Android ja iPhone ovat vallanneet markkinaosuutta merkittävästi viimeisen vuoden aikana ja niiden käyttö liiketoimintaympäristössä on hyvin yleistä. Uuden Symbian-alustan tukeminen on myös tärkeää, sillä seuraavan sukupolven Symbian^3-puhelimet vaikuttavat lupaavilta. Lisäksi ensimmäistä kertaa SyncShield® tukee myös taulutietokoneita, joista tuettuja ovat nyt Android-taulutietokoneet kuten Samsung Galaxy Tab. SyncShield®:n tarkoituksena on aina ollut tukea selvää enemmistöä liiketoimintaympäristössä käytetyistä mobiililaitteista ja tarjota kokonaisvaltaista hallinnointiratkaisua kaikille tuetuille alustoille. Tämän version myötä tavoitteet on taas saavutettu onnistuneesti ja tulokset ovat saatavilla kaikille.

Mobiililaitteiden maailma muuttuu jatkuvasti ja uusien innovaatioiden ja teknologioiden myötä avautuu uusia mahdollisuuksia. Juuri muutosten takia SyncShield® on suunniteltu tukemaan koko mobiililaitteen elinkaarta. On aivan yleistä, että puhelimen vaihtaminen toiseen on aikaavievää ja vaivalloista kaiken datan ja asetusten siirtämisen ja suojaamisen vuoksi. SyncShield® tukee nyt siirrettäviä varmuuskopioita eli nyt varmuuskopioiden siirto esimerkiksi Symbian- ja Windows Mobile –puhelinten välillä on tuettu toiminto. Puhelimen kontaktit, tekstiviestit ja kalenterin voi tallentaa varmuuskopiona ja siirtää uuteen puhelimeen uusin asetuksin vaikka käyttöjärjestelmä vaihtuisikin. Tämä on helppoa myös SyncShield®:n käyttäjän näkökulmasta, sillä puhelimen profiilin voi helposti muuttaa esimerkiksi iPhone 3G:stä Samsung Galaxy S:än. Puhelimen vaihto ei ole koskaan ollut näin helppoa.

Näiden suurempien muutosten lisäksi SyncShield® 3.7 -versioon on tuotu teknistä käyttöä tukevia toimintoja. Symbian-puhelimiin on tuotu nyt tuki VoIP- ja SIP -hallinnointiin, mobiililaitteet voivat nyt toimia joko push- tai pull-profiileilla ja puhelin voidaan asettaa tekemään lukitus tai muistin tyhjennys heti, kun laitteeseen koitetaan asettaa uusi SIM-kortti varkaudenestotoimintona. Ratkaisun kehitystyö jatkuu ja täten takaa parhaan laadun ja nykyajan haasteita vastaavat ominaisuudet. Seuraava versio julkaistaan vuoden 2011 alkupuolella.
